With a growth rate of over 50% in the first six months of 2017, the German airport has set record growth.

This year, the freight business at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is moving continuously in one upwards. From January to June, 49,000 tons of freight were handled at Hunsrück Airport, an increase of 52% compared to the first half of 2016. In addition, the airline Etihad, which has been flying regularly from Hahn since last year, has added two new regular connections. The US-based link between the logistics company Senator International, which was launched twice a week in the US with Air Atlanta Icelandic, also contributed to growth.

In addition, through the continuous work of the sales department, there has been success in the field of chartering, having been able to get a lot of new freight airlines at the Hahn and to win new customers.

While the freight business is booming, passenger volume is slightly below the previous year's level. In June, 229,640 passengers were counted, 5% fewer than in the previous month. From January to June, 1.8 million travellers flew from Hahn, a 5% drop compared to the previous year. Hahn aims to improve this area.
