Ireland and the Irish diaspora celebrate St Patrick's Day annually on 17 March, with many events taking place around the world, including in Luxembourg. 

It is a cultural and religious celebration which observes the death of Saint Patrick, the country's patron saint. The Embassy of Ireland in Luxembourg will be holding its traditional reception at noon on Friday 15 March.  Further events are planned around this St Patrick celebratory weekend by various local establishments:

14-16 March - Zeltik Festival Dudelange

This year will mark the 26th edition of the Zeltik Festival. Music acts will include Celtic Legends, The Kilkennys, Brian Brody, Ryan Young, Gwennyn, Startijenn and Noon. More information is available at: www.zeltik.lu – Zeltik 2024

15-17 March – Irish pubs & More

Various Irish pubs around the country will play live music on and before St Patrick's Day.

Black Stuff will open its doors at 13:00 on 17 March, Éirelux will be open from 15:00 on 15, 16 and 17 March. 

Kantin will offer a St Patrick’s weekend menu for €40 including live music (and close to the nearby Zeltik celebration) on 15, 16 and 17 March.

Casino 2000 will offer live Irish music and a pulled pork burger marinated in Guinness in its Purple Lounge for €19 on 17 March.

Mama Shelter will organise a St. Patrick's Day celebration on Friday 15 March from 21:00 and “transform into an Irish pub”. It will offer a concert by the “Fausses Celtiques” with special instruments (flutes, violin, bodhran, bagpipes, guitar and bouzouki) and include jigs, polkas and gavottes dancing.

Scott’s Pub will also organise a St Patrick’s Weekend celebration on 16 and 17 March, opening at 11:00 and until late on both days. The Six Nations rugby games will also be broadcast, in addition to a DJ and dance floor available in the upstairs bar from 18:00.

16 March - St. Patrick's Day Céilí

Comhaltas will be celebrating St Patrick's Day in the Centre Culturel Cessange on Saturday 16 March 2024, with a children’s céilí in the afternoon followed by a céilí for adults in the evening. Local Comhaltas musicians and dancers will perform live music and dances. The bar will be cash only.

The children’s céilí will take place from 14:00 to 15:00, with tickets at the door available for €5. The adults’ céilí dancing will start at around 20:00, with doors opening at 19:30. Tickets cost €10. 

17 March – Feast of St Patrick Mass*

This year's Feast of St Patrick Mass will be celebrated at the Belair Church (Église Saint Pie X) 112, avenue Gaston Diderich Luxembourg-Belair on Sunday 17 March at 11:00. This event is open to all.

18 to 23 March - British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) 

The British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg will be holding its 2024 Spring Edition from 18 to 23 March 2024, with all screenings at the Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

The festival features exciting Irish productions, independent cinema and special guests, including Irish actors and directors. The festival will include thirteen feature-length films from a cross-section of genres and five short films.

Besides, as in the past years, the Rives de Clausen bar and restaurant district in the capital will also offer St Patrick's Day parties on the weekend of 15-17 March 2024. Dress code: green green green.
