As part of the International Day for Rare Diseases, ALAN – Maladies Rares Luxembourg has organised the 4th edition of its Grande Soirée Quiz, taking place on Saturday 24 February 2018 at 18:30 at Käerjenger Treff (54C, avenue de Luxembourg, L- 4950 Bascharage).

In Luxembourg, about 30,000 people suffer from a rare disease, representing 1 in 19 inhabitants. Rare diseases are often serious and disabling and for most there is no cure. International Rare Disease Day is held every year on the last day of February to raise awareness among the general public and policy makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' daily lives. Under the umbrella of EURORDIS, thousands of people around the world will come together to launch actions and awareness events such as this quiz night.

Following speeches by Luxembourg Minister of Health Lydia Mutsch, among others, the quiz will be moderated by Geert van Beusekom and Joseph Rodesch, aka "Mister Science". Participating teams will test their knowledge of general culture, science and rare diseases.
