On Tuesday, the orfanisers of the WTA Luxembourg Open held a press conference at the PALL CENTER "Les épiceries du Luxembourg" in Steinsel; Malou Hartmann opened by congratulating Gilles Muller on his impressive Wimbledon win and the tournament sent a message “Do it again Mulles”.

This year's WTA Luxembourg Open will have extended distribution through WTA media (distribution in 170 countries and 666 million households) in addition to other media partners.

The tournament seats 3,000 spectators across the two courts and will take place from 14-21 October 2017. The first two days will be qualifying rounds and the main draw starts on the third day, 16 October.

A special highlight this year will be the “Journée Sport Santé” on Monday 16 October with newly retired former WTA No. 5 Daniela Hantuchove as ambassador. Throughout the week there will be several special events, including the draw on Saturday 14 October, a "meet and greet" with musician Giovanni Zarrella on Sunday 15 October before the Player’s Night with “Giovanni Zarrella and Vintage Vegas”, Tuesday 17 October “Kids Tennis Clinic” with a WTA player and the talk on “Business meets sports” with the Chamber of Commerce and a WTA player, just to name a few of the opportunities to meet players and other celebrities.

The big annoucement of the evening was the next two players to join Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard in the line up Former World No. 5 Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands and former World No. 1 (returning from her baby break) Victoria Azarenka.
