The Luxembourg Swimming Federation sent an 11-strong youth squad to participate in an international swimming gala in Sindelfingen (near Stuttgart, Germany) at the week-end, which resulted in no less than 56 new personal bests and eight medals at the 24th International Sindelfingen Swimming Championships.

In the age group Youth B (born 2003/2004), Nicolas Lanners won the 200m butterfly and took third place in the 100m butterfly. Mike Bourckel secured silver in the 200m backstroke and bronze in the 50m backstroke.

For the girls, Lou Jominet won the gold medal in the 200m freestyle in the age group Youth C (born 2005/2006). Neele Albers won silver in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

"With 84.8% bests, the athletes exceeded our expectations, but they have also seen that the international competition is very large," summed up youth national coach Miloslav Rolko at the competition in Sindelfingen.
