Luxembourg swimmer Julie Meynen was in top form at the "Georgia Tech Invitational Meet" in the USA from 16-18 November 2017.

Coming second place in the 100 yards freestyle and first place in the 4x100 yard freestyle relay, 20-year-old Julie Meynen contributed significantly to the victory of the "Auburn Tigers Swimming Team" in the Southeastern Conference.

As the starting swimmer of the season, the young sprinter swam in 47.61 seconds, a new personal best and the second-fastest ever swum time of an Aubrun Tiger and ranks fifth in the US raking of college teams. Team-mates Erin Falconer, Ashton Ellzey and Aly Tetzloff brought the quartet to the finish line in 3:13.88 minutes, setting a new season record for US teams.

In the following weeks, there are further comparative matches of the Southeastern Conference planned as well as school examinations on the programme, due to which Julie will not be able to participate in the European Short Course Championships in Copenhagen (13-17 December). Their next competition in front of their home crowd will be the anniversary edition of the 20th Euro Meet from 26-28 January 2018.
