Rockhal has announced that Sting will perform an open-air concert on Saturday 30 June 2018 in Esch-Belval; doors open at 18:30 with the concert set to start at 21:30).

This will be the first such open-air concert at the venue and will be held across from Rockhal with the breath-taking blast furnaces in the background.

Following last year’s (indoor) concert - sold out on 1 April - the world-renowned musician and 16-time Grammy Award winning artist is looking forward to performing at the unique setting.

Sting will perform both his classic hits as well as songs from his forthcoming, island-influenced collaborative album with reggae star, Shaggy, entitled 44/876. They will release the album on 20 April, reflecting the duo’s mutual love of Jamaica – its music, the spirit of its people and the vibrancy of its culture.

As one of the world’s most distinctive artists, Sting has received an additional 10 Grammy Awards, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations and a TONY nomination. Throughout his illustrious career, Sting has sold close to 100 million albums from his combined work with The Police and as an individual artist.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 23 February 2018 from www.rockhal.lu (€73 standing; €115 seated).

Note: this concert will be on the same day as the Den Atelier-organised Siren's Call festival at the Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-ville.
