The Anglican Church in Luxembourg will hold its annual Remembrance Day Service on Sunday 12 November 2017 at the Konvikt Centre (5 avenue Marie-Thérèse, Luxembourg-ville).

As is the case every year, the Anglican Church of Luxembourg will be commemorating Remembrance Day to give thanks for the sacrifice of so many men and women in the wars of the last century, as well as praying for peace and reconciliation.

The service will start at 10:55 sharp; those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 10:45 at the latest so that the service can begin promptly.

The ambassadors or representatives of Belgium (HE Mr Jean-Louis Six), Germany (HE Dr Heinrich Kreft), Great Britain (HE Mr John Marshall), Ireland (HE Mr Peadar Carpenter) and the United States (Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms Kristi Roberts) will all be present to lay wreaths at the altar. Wreaths will also be laid by representatives of Luxembourg City (Mrs Colette Mart, Alderman), the Armed Forces, the Western Front Association and the Scouts, Guides and Brownies.

At 11:00 there will be the traditional 2 minutes of silence, when the congregation will remember all those who lost their lives in the wars since the “war to end all wars”.

The British Ambassador HE John Marshall, and the German Ambassador HE Dr Heinrich Kreft will both read passages from the Bible during the service.
