The Luxembourg Railways (CFL) have announced that it is extending WiFi coverage at train stations train stations through the Grand Duchy.

Following on from its April 2017 initiative to provide customers with access to online services, including the CFL information portal, at its Luxembourg city and Ettelbruck train stations, this service has recently been extended to many other stations. These include: Bettembourg, Pétange, Mersch, Rodange, Dudelange-Ville, Esch, Differdange and Belval-University as well as all levels of the Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg station.

A feasibility study is currently being carried out on extending the WiFi service at the Howald, Sandweiler-Contern, Cents, Dommeldange, Walferdange, Diekirch, Troisvierges, Lamadelaine, Wiltz, Dudelange-Centre, Kleinbettingen and Kautenbach stations.

In addition, the CFL has launched its new mobile app which has been completely redesigned for both iOS and Android devices.

Among the new features are, apart from a simpler structure, many additional features, including the ability to acquire a ticket for all national travel and some cross-border trips - directly from the application. Also included are new push notifications that are customisable, allowing customers to receive tailor-made information on possible travel interruptions. Customers will continue to enjoy national and international train schedules in real time.​
