The CFL has announced that two train lines in Luxembourg will be affected by maintenance works during August and September.

- Line 10: Luxembourg – Troisvierges – Gouvy (3-week interruption between Luxembourg-Ettelbrück from 26 August to 17 September). The section of tracks between Dommeldange and Ettelbrück and between Ettelbrück and Diekirch will be blocked due to extensive modernisation work at several points on these sections, including in and around the Lorentzweiler station, renewal work is required: 8 switches will be replaced at the station. At the same time, the platform and the drainage system of the station will be improved to ensure the proper functioning of drainage along the tracks. As part of the abolition of the crossing no. 20b, a new subway will be built in the extension of the Lorentzweiler station. This new subway will be equipped with a lift which will facilitate access for people with reduced mobility. Only the subway frame will be laid during this period of works. However, the platform and tracks of the level crossings PN 20 and PN 20b will be modernised now. The two level crossings will be closed to all traffic during the works, as well as part of the PC 15 cycle path. Deviations will be implemented. Preparation work will also be carried out to eliminate grade crossing N ° 17 in Walferdange. On the same section, between Mersch and Ettelbrück, preparatory work will be carried out to optimise the power supply for line 10.

- Line 30: Luxembourg – Wasserbillig – Trèves (2-week interruption between Oetrange-Trèves from 26 August to 10 September. The interruptions of service are necessary for modernising, maintaining and extending the railway network; the CFL regularly carries out work on the railway infrastructure in this regard. These operations necessitate the blocking of certain sections of lines in order to reduce the inconvenience caused to what is strictly necessary and to allow a rapid and safe operation. This is why this work is traditionally carried out during periods of reduced attendance, such as school holidays or week-ends. Some work will take place during the night, the local residents concerned will receive detailed information. The stretch of tracks between Oetrange and Wasserbillig will be closed off; during the works, track renewal work will be carried out on the section in question. In the vicinity of the Oetrange railway station, this work will consist of renewing and rehabilitating the railway line and in modernising the electric traction installations. In addition, there are plans to renew the tracks, cable gutters and drainage system along the tracks to ensure proper water drainage. In the context of this modernisation work, 4 switches in Oetrange station will also be replaced. At Wecker railway station, a number of works will be brought into compliance. This will include the construction of a new retaining wall to widen the railway platform, extend a river bridge and rehabilitate an aquaduct. The closure will also benefit the facilities near Mertert: tracks and cable ducts will be renewed in this area, which will require work near the tracks. A bridge will also be widened to allow the creation of tracks for routine maintenance of the railway network.

During these interruptions in service, the CFL is laying on buses to transport passengers between the affected stops.
