Dr Sutton;

The well-respected Medical Biology Interactive and Honorary Consultant, Dr Sutton will be visiting St George’s International School in Luxembourg-Hamm for Brain Awareness week for the sixth year running. By popular request he will be offering a FREE twilight workshop for the general public on Friday 13 October from 17:30 - 19:30 in St George’s Auditorium.

During this Twilight workshop, Dr Sutton will examine the effects of alcohol, nicotine and cannabis on the teenage brain, together with teenage mental health issues. The talk will conclude by offering a defence of the adolescent brain.

"If you have a son who does nothing good… deliver him at once into the hands of a merchant who will send him to another country... Nothing else can be done. While he remains with you, he will not mend his ways.” So wrote Florentine merchant Paolo of Certaldo in the 14th century. Teenagers frustrate their adults with apparent black and white thinking, egocentric thoughts, irrational behaviour and focus on development and changes from childhood through adolescence to adulthood.

Each year Dr Sutton inspires Psychology and Biology enthusiasts to explore more about general health, genetics and neuroscience. Dr Sutton’s enigmatic presentation skills are inspiring and engaging with up to date information and interactive activities.
