Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel today had a bilateral meeting with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, in Paris.

As part of the State Visit to France, Prime Minister and Minister of State Xavier Bettel met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the major issues of European and international news as well as the future of the European Union. On this point, the Prime Minister expressed his wish to see the European Union "once again becoming a union at the service of its citizens". In this context, Xavier Bettel underlined the participation of Luxembourg in the process of citizen consultations on the future of the European Union, whose initiative was launched by France.

In addition, Xavier Bettel and Emmanuel Macron prepared the European Council to be held on 22 and 23 March in Brussels.
