On Saturday, the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) held a press conference at the Hotel Le Royal in Luxembourg city centre in advance of the Teqball All-Stars Cup being held later in the day.

A number of legendary players were in attendance, including local Roby Langers, Nuno Gomes (Portugal), Carlos Puyol (Spain), Ruud Gullit (The Netherlands), Robert Pires (France), Christian Karembu (France) and William Gallas (France).

A number of the football legends addressed the press conference, most in their own language, emphasising the international aspect of Teqball. Ruud Gullit spoke in English and jokingly referred to recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers in which The Netherlands, France and Luxembourg are in the same group. He said that Teqball is a great concept and allows anyone, including children, to play and to practice their football skills. Roby Langers said that the Teqball tables are very important and are very good for improving techniques. He said that he is very convinced that the Teqball tables have a great future and will encourage teams to use them.

Teqball is played indoors or outdoors using a surface that most closely resembles a table-tennis table, with singles and doubles both played, using a football.

In the future, Teqball will be promoted as a fun, recreational sport, as well as being using by professional clubs at the highest level. A guidebook on how to use a Teqball table is being prepared, with thousands of different exercises being possible.
