On day three of the Rio Olympics, yesterday Monday 7 August 2016, Luxembourg’s Ni Xia Lian lost in the third round against her opponent, Feng Tianwei from Singapore.

Despite storming to a two-game lead, Ni Xia Lian was defeated by the fourth best table tennis player in the world, with Feng Tianwei reeling off the next four games to win 4-2 (8-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-4, 11-5).

Meanwhile on Sunday, in Cycling, the Women’s Road Race saw Luxembourg’s Christine Majerus finished 18th out of 67 cyclists, with her compatriot Chantal Hoffman not competing the course.

Christine Majerus remains in Rio for the Women’s Cycling Time Trial on Wednesday, while Chantal Hoffman’s Olympics are over.
