The year 2018 will begin for the Orchestre de Chambre de Luxembourg with the third concert in the Schubert Cycle, taking place on 14 January 2018 at the Philharmonie at 17:00.

This upcoming concert will feature Mozart's Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra KV 314 as well as Symphony No. 2 and No. 5 by Franz Schubert. As a soloist of the long-lost and rarely performed in Luxembourg oboe and orchestra concert, OCL’s oboist Emmanuel Teutsch will be heard.

Franz Schubert finished his Symphony No. 2 as an eighteen-year-old boy in the same period in which he composed some of his most famous songs, including the well-known "Erlkönig". However, the public premiere of Symphony No. 2 did not take place until 1877, almost half a century after Schubert's death. In the year 2018 now, it will be the task of the OCL to illuminate the very different and fine timbres of Schubert's youth work, under the chief conductor Florian Krumpock.
