On Saturday 14 October 2017 the seven museums of the “d’stater muséeën” group will be opening their doors for the 17th edition of “Night of the Museums”.

Over the course of the years a rich and varied programme of exhibitions, collections, special entertainment, performances, conferences, films, DJs and culinary surprises has developed, and this year promises to be no different. Under the banner of “Museums connect!” there will be a joint artisitic presentation on the digitisation of museum collections, the democratisation of culture and the participation of museum visitors.

Four performance artists have been given carte blanche to provide their own interpretation of the exhibitions and programmes of the night, and these will be broadcast live into the seven participating museums as well as on the Facebook page “Museumsmile”.

Additionally seven local journalists from different media will be providing behind the scenes guided tours of personal favourite exhibits which will give visitors new perspectives and unique views of these specific objects.
