On 19 December 2016, Mudam Luxembourg accepted the last of 22 donations from Stephanie and Patrick Majerus’ collection.
Between 2013 and 2016, Mudam received 22 donations from Stephanie and Patrick Majerus’ collection, which have helped drive the growth and recognition of the museum’s collection. At the end of 2016, the Mudam scientific committee met under Enrico Lunghi to accept the last of these donations.
The first of the many Majerus donations over the past three years was David Zink Yi’s Pneuma (2011) in 2013. Among the other donations were many works by Sven Johne, including the last one which was his Greatest Show on Earth (2011).
Such donations are regulated by a law from 1982 by the Fonds culturel national and by article 27 of a law from 4 December 1967 regarding revenue tax, since certain types of donations are subject to tax deductibility.
