The Société Nationale de Circulation Automobile (SNCA) registered a total of 136,558 new vehicles in 2017, out of a total number registered of 535,344 in the Grand Duchy.
This figure represents a growth in new vehicle registrations of 3.29%, compared to a 2.84% growth at the end of 2016.
A total of 52,776 new vehicles were sold during 2017 in the Grand Duchy, compared to 50,561 in 2016, with 59,692 second-hand car sales registered last year too (56,757 in 2016).
In addition to cars, a total of 67,884 trucks and 32,611 motorcycles and trikes were also registered last year.
In 2017, 125,030 vehicles were put out of circulation - this includes vehicles de-registered as they are not driven by their owners during the winter months.
