The Ville de Luxembourg has announced changes to bus lines 21, 22 and 32 during the opening of Lycée Vauban, from Monday 19 February 2018.

During the opening of Lycée Vauban, some bus lines in the capital will be adapted. These changes will affect lines 21, 22 and 32.

The layout of Line 21 will be altered in its southern part to ensure optimal service to students of Lycée Vauban. Indeed, the line 21 will serve, with a bus every 15 minutes, the new stop "Francophonie", located on the Kockelscheuer boulevard before continuing towards the Cloche d'Or, until the current terminus "Guillaume Kroll". Line 21 will no longer serve the P+R Lux-Sud and so the journey time between Luxembourg Gare and Cloche d'Or will be reduced by 5 minutes.

Moreover, the route of line 22 will be extended beyond the Central Station and will henceforth serve, in addition to the new stop "Francophonie" (every 10 minutes) the stop "Gerhard Mercator" on the Raiffeisen boulevard before continuing to the new terminus at the stop "Howald, P+R Lux-Sud" (customs centre). Lines 21 and 22, both passing through the city centre and the Gare district, will create a direct connection between the "Charlys Gare" and "Francophonie" bus stops every 6 minutes. Travellers to/from the P+R Lux-Sud will now have to use line 22 instead of line 21.

Since line 21 will no longer connect the P+R Lux-Sud to the Cloche d’Or, a new provisional line, line 32, will provide this connection at peak times. It will particularly serve the stops "Hildegard von Bingen", "Leonardo Da Vinci", "Émile Bian", and "Jean Piret" in parallel with line 24 (bus every 7-8 minutes at peak hours). This line will be operational until the commissioning of a new stop which will be located at the Raiffeisen boulevard, which is planned for the summer of 2018.

Adjustments will also result in schedule changes, affecting lines 21, 22, 24 and 28, in order to maintain a uniform frequency on the parallel sections of the lines in question.
