The Luxembourg Ministries of Health and of Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection will present the National Antibiotic Plan 2018-2022 this Thursday 6 March 2018.

The general objective of this first National Antibiotic Plan (NAP) is to reduce the emergence, development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance in Luxembourg.
This plan is all the more important as antimicrobial resistance continues to grow in the world and the consequences are particularly alarming both in terms of human and animal health and economic level.
The NAP 2018-2022, which was developed together with all stakeholders, aims to put in place a whole set of mechanisms around prevention, education and communication in order to improve the awareness and understanding of the antimicrobial resistance of the general population and health professionals.

Governance, treatment and diagnosis, as well as monitoring and research are other strategic axes of the plan.
