On Wednesday 5 July, Luxembourg's Minister for the Economy, Étienne Schneider, announced an investment of €100 million from the OCSiAl company in Differdange creating 200 jobs

By 2020, OCSiAl will install the world's largest industrial single-wall carbon nanotube plant in Luxembourg, in the Hanebësch industrial zone. In addition, OCSiAl will set up a research centre dedicated to the development of new applications for single-walled carbon nanotubes on its site in Differdange. This project represents a total investment of €100 million and will create up to 200 jobs, particularly in the field of R&D, production, sales and marketing.

At the press conference on 5 July 2017 in the presence of Roberto Traversini, Mayor of the City of Differdange, Minister Schneider said: "This project is in line with Our industrial development policy targeting innovative materials. OCSiAl's project will contribute to position Luxembourg as a preferred location for innovative materials thanks to its size and the state-of-the-art technology. Once again, an international group confirms that Luxembourg is a destination of choice for innovative industrial investment projects in technologically advanced fields."

Konstantin Notman, Managing Director of OCSiAl, said: "The environment favorable to industrial investments offered by Luxembourg and the strong will of the country to support innovative technologies were decisive in our choice to install the new production site Of OCSiAl in the Grand Duchy. As our headquarters is already established in Luxembourg, we have experienced responsiveness and excellent collaboration with governmental and communal authorities. Such assets contribute to the development of innovative technologies and accelerate their implementation."

The OCSiAl group, originally from Russia, is active in the field of carbon nanomaterials and a world leader in the production and distribution of single-walled carbon nanotubes. These nanotubes make it possible to improve the qualities and performances of other materials to which they are mixed, they can be applied in particular for polymers, for certain metals or for building materials. Headquarters of the OCSiAl group have been established in Luxembourg since 2012, including management, sales and marketing functions.
