From the end of September, the Ville de Luxembourg (VdL) and the non-profit organisation Just Arrived Ambassadors Club (JAAClub) will offer weekly welcome services and integration meetings to newcomers.

The purpose of these services will be to facilitate the installation and integration of new residents in Luxembourg City and will be provided by JAAClub ambassadors and employees of the Integration and Special Needs Service, who will guide and support new citizens in their new surroundings.

These services will be available each Tuesday starting on 26 September 2017, from 8:30 to 11:00, at the Integration and Special Needs Department (City Hall, 42, Place Guillaume II, entrance next to the Knuedler car park), except during the school holidays.

Additionally, from October 2017, the VdL and JAAClub, created in April 2017, will offer free monthly integration meetings for new residents in order to guarantee a more personal welcome and contact and promote intercommunity exchange, a type of newcomer support network.

These two-hour meetings will take place in three cultural institutions of the city (Lëtzebuerg City Museum, Villa Vauban, Cinémathèque) and will consist of a guided visit, a presentation on the JAAClub, the ambassadors and the projects carried out and will also include intercultural games facilitating contact between the people present.

The calendar of services and integration meetings will be available on the websites www.vdl.lu and www.jaaclub.org.

As has been the case every year since 2006, new citizens will also receive a free copy of the guide Just Arrived at the Town Hall of Luxembourg City. Written in French and English, it guides new residents through administrative procedures and other procedures that may seem complicated when moving somewhere new, such as finding employment or housing, opening a bank account, registering a car or finding leisure activities.
