Percy Lallemang, Manager of Le Musée Rural et Artisanal in Peppange, and former Chairman of the British Luxembourg Society, is also a former teacher of English in Luxembourg. This is his third screenplay (all in English), having also penned "Symbiosis" (an adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by RL Stevenson) and "Hellriders" (trashy post-apocalyptic guerilla-style). Both Symbiosis and Hellriders subsequently saw production in the form of "micro to low-budget" productions (2007 & 2011 respectively) and are on Vimeo.
Asked about where he got his inspiration, Percy went on to explain "I actually got the inspiration from walking in the woods past a large pond near Crauthem in Luxembourg, when I looked at some dead branches of trees sticking out from the water, suddenly I had the image of a skeletal hand sticking out of the water between those branches and somehow from there the idea of a serial murderer hiding his victims in a pond came to mind - and a complete story involving a private investigator grew around it... I love those Nordic noir genre books and thrillers and thought I might give it a try and write it as a screenplay."
Synopsis: Alcoholic washed-up private detective Sam Miller, working on a seedy extra marital affair case and seriously indebted to a local criminal, learns about the suicide of his former best friend and highly - decorated cop Gabe. Deeply shaken by Gabe’s passing he’s approached by the latter’s second wife with some alarming information about her deceased husband. Intrigued by his dead friend’s obsession to find his young daughter who disappeared years ago and the discovery he made which pushed him to put a bullet through his head, Sam decides to have a closer look into his friend’s findings so far. He soon discovers a series of clues which lead him not only to an orphanage, a mental asylum, a children’s choir and a watery mass grave in a secluded forest, but which also set him on the trail of a monster in human form who calls himself the Angelmaker and who seems to be somehow linked to his and Gabe’s past.
