Local author Percy Lallemang's most recent screenplay has won international awards: 2017 Platinum Screenplay Award Winner of the International Independent Film Awards Competition, Finalist in the 2017 Golden Script Competition and Semi-Finalist in the 2017 Creative World Awards Screenplay Competition.

Written in English, the screenplay for "The Agony of Angels" has been published and is available to order from Amazon worldwide (see

Percy Lallemang, Manager of Le Musée Rural et Artisanal in Peppange, and former Chairman of the British Luxembourg Society, is also a former teacher of English in Luxembourg. This is his third screenplay (all in English), having also penned "Symbiosis" (an adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by RL Stevenson) and "Hellriders" (trashy post-apocalyptic guerilla-style). Both Symbiosis and Hellriders subsequently saw production in the form of "micro to low-budget" productions (2007 & 2011 respectively) and are on Vimeo.

In talking with Chronicle.lu, Percy explained "I didn't get any funding for this screenplay at all, I just wrote it and then decided to hand it in at several international online screenplay competitions where it went on to win 3 prizes, so I must have done something right since it stood out among dozens of screenplays from around the world. It got selected for publication with another 15 screenplays in another competition last October."

Asked about where he got his inspiration, Percy went on to explain "I actually got the inspiration from walking in the woods past a large pond near Crauthem in Luxembourg, when I looked at some dead branches of trees sticking out from the water, suddenly I had the image of a skeletal hand sticking out of the water between those branches and somehow from there the idea of a serial murderer hiding his victims in a pond came to mind - and a complete story involving a private investigator grew around it... I love those Nordic noir genre books and thrillers and thought I might give it a try and write it as a screenplay."

Currently he has no plans to bring this screenplay to production, he did acknowledge "I'm very glad and proud it's been recognized in its own way and published and I'm fully aware I won't get rich by selling it, I just want people to read it." He concluded "Of course it would be fantastic if perhaps some film maker / director were interested in adapting it..."
