The Centre National de Littérature is hosting an evening of readings and interviews celebrating the growing prominence of the English language in Luxembourgers’ literary experience, as well as the recent launch of the English-language publishing house, Black Fountain Press on 6 April.

Among the speakers will be James Leader, who won the Concours Littéraire National for his novel The Venus Zone last year, Sandra Schmit, whose translation of texts by Guy Rewenig was also published last year, and Anne-Marie Reuter, one of the founders of Black Fountain Press, whose own work, On The Edge, will be published this year.

They’ll be examining the scene, from specialised bookshops to literary magazines, poetry readings to critical salons, and how literature in English is playing an ever increasing role in Luxembourg’s cultural landscape.

The evening starts at 19:30 at the Centre National de Litterature, on 2, Rue Emmanuel Servais in Mersch. Admission is free.
