According to Luxembourg's national statistics office, Statec, salaried employment increased by 1.1% in Q4 2017 and by 3.6% over 12 months.

Over the course of the past year, the number of cross-border workers (+4.3%) has evolved a little faster than the number of residents (+3.0%) in the Grand Duchy.

Among residents, the number of workers from the European Union increased by 3.3% while the number of non-community workers increased by 12.1%.

The increase in employment in the fourth quarter 2017 is due to job creation in information and communication services (ICT) (+7.0%), as well as in specialised activities and support services (+6.0% over 12 months). These two branches cover 20% of salaried employment. They are responsible for 34% of net job creation between the 4th quarter of 2016 and the 4th quarter of 2017.​
