Yesterday, Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) repatriated a victim of the Barcelona bombing; the Belgian citizen was hit by the van and sustained serious injuries.

Repatriation to his country of residence was only possible in the case of medical treatment with intensive care. She was therefore repatriated for further treatment to a Belgian hospital by Luxembourg Air Rescue on board a fully equipped sanitary plane.

Already on 24 August, LAR had transported a young French couple with poly-traumatic wounds sustained in the attack, back to their country of residence.

This is not the first time that Luxembourg Air Rescue has been deployed in terrorist attacks. In June 2015, the Luxembourg air rescue organisation repatriated several tourists after an attack in Tunisia.
