In the latest FIFA rankings published yesterday, Luxembourg's national football team has climbed an astonishing 35 places to 101st position, out of a total of 211 countries worldwide with national football teams.

The rise for Luxembourg was down to arguably the best week in Luxembourg's football history, in which they defeated Belarus 1-0 at the Stade Josy Barthel, then drew away 0-0 with France in Toulouse, both in FIFA World cup qualifying matches.

Germany has leap-frogged Brayil to take top spot, with Portugal up 3 places to 3rd, and Argentina dropping one place to 4th.
