On Thursday evening, during the current international window, Luxembourg's national football team defeated Hungary at the Stade Josy Barthel in a friendly match.
The last time the two sides played each other was in 2003, when Hungary won 5-1 in Budapest.
Forward Aurélien Joachim opened the scoring in the 15th minute, with Nemanja Nikolic levelling for the visitors just three minutes later. However, with just 6 minutes left on the clock and the game looking as if it might peter out for a draw, defender Marvin Martins scored the winner with a header from a cross by Vincent Thill, to secure another great result for the Grand Duchy's Red Lions.
Hungary were up against it though, with Lovrencsics being sent off just 7 minutes into the second half for a second booking.
This result has continued Luxembourg's recent good record, after drawing against France and Bulgaria, and defeating Belarus, all in the FIFA World cup qualifiers.
