The Coque in Kirchberg will host an Irish Folk Festival on Tuesday 25 October 2016 at 20:00.

2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising in Ireland, which means 100 years of independence and existence of the Republic of Ireland. The revolution - also called Easter Rising - was conducted by writers, poets, trade unionists and Irish patriots. The Irish language, Irish music and Gaelic sports were the elements that united this motley group of idealists who sacrificed their lives for freedom. 100 years later, Irish folk and Gaelic are more alive than ever. They are the Irish DNA - and how could it better be expressed that at the 43rd edition of the Irish Folk Festival?

The Irish Folk Festival will feature three hours of music from Beoga, Aoife Scott Band, Aodán Coyne & Teresa Horgan & Matt Griffin

Those attending the event may also enjoy a fabulous buffet of Irish specialties from 18:00 in the La Coquille restaurant.

Tickets cost €39 (concert only) or €67 (concert & dinner) from www.coque.lu
