Yesterday, on 25 January 2018, the Luxembourg state and Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) signed the multiannual agreement for the period 2018-2021.

On behalf of the state, Marc Hansen, Minister Delegate for Higher Education and Research, and Lydia Mutsch, Minister of Health, signed the agreement with Gregor Baertz, Chairman of the LIH Board, Ulf Nehrbass, Managing Director of the LIH, and Catherine Larue, the Managing Director of the Integrated BioBank of Luxembourg (IBBL).

Under this multiannual agreement, which covers the next three years, the state allocations to the LIH will amount to €149.9 million, an increase of some 26% compared to the 2014-2017 multiannual agreement.

In total, the state will invest €1.44 billion in research and higher education for the period from 2018 to 2021. Moreover, the financial resources made available by the state are growing by €284 million, corresponding to an increase of 25% compared to the period from 2014 to 2017.
