The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Luxembourg will be holding the event “Drivers of change for the public sector: Bringing governments closer to citizens and businesses in a digital age through ethics and trust” on 26 September 2017, from 12:30-17:30 at the European Court of Auditors (ECA), Luxembourg (entrance rue Erasme).

ACCA’s event on drivers of change for the public sector, hosted by ECA’s Lazaros S. Lazarou, will focus on the various factors driving change in the public sector, such as the need to balance increasing populations and economic growth with the planet’s finite resources. It will also deal with repairing damaged public trust, responses to the public’s rising demands for transparency and the challenges facing accountants, who have been asked to take on a broader strategic and entrepreneurial role, now becoming the bridge between the public and private sectors.

To help leaders in the public sector and professional accountants prepare for an uncertain tomorrow, ACCA undertook a global study to explore which emerging drivers of change could have the biggest impact and to highlight the skills that will be required up to the year 2026. With the scale and pace of change accelerating quicker than ever, the study’s results aim to anticipate how the changes will affect a country and thus help its government to prepare most effectively for the future.

The conference planned for the end of September will, therefore, focus on two such changes: bringing governments closer to citizens and businesses in a digital age through ethics and trust. There will be a cocktail reception as the conference comes to a close.

Anyone interested in attending the conference is asked to RSVP by 12 September to cecile.bonino@accaglobal.com. Those who do not have a permanent pass for the European Court of
Auditors are required to also indicate their full name, date of birth, nationality, passport or ID number
and expiry date, place of birth and full home address.
