The Institute for Global Finance Integrity (TIGFI) has announced the 56th Luxembourg Monthly Finance Lunch to take place on Wednesday 15 November 2017 at the Cercle Munster, from 12:00.
At the upcoming Luxembourg Monthly Finance Lunch for November, Jos Van Bommel, Associate Professor at the University of Luxembourg, will speak on “The governance of perpetual institutions”.
Jos Van Bommel was the founding Director of the Master in Wealth Management programme at the University of Luxembourg and his research on Corporate Finance, Market Microstructure and Banking has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
Before coming to Luxembourg, Jos taught at Babson College in the US, Oxford University’s Said Business School and at Esade Business School in Barcelona, among others. He holds a university degree in engineering from the University of Eindhoven, an MBA from IESE, and a PhD in finance from INSEAD.
His talk will be a non-academic discussion on his recent paper that studies the conflict between overlapping generations in asset-holding institutions, such as foundations, pension plans, banks, colleges, charities and countries and provides suggestions and examples on how intergenerational conflicts can - and are - addressed in successful long-term organisations.
The event will begin with drinks at 12:00, with Jos Van Bommel speaking from 12:30.
