This week-end, The Breadwinner directed by Nora Twomey, and co-produced by Melusine Productions, has won the Annie Award for Best Independent Animated Feature at the 45th edition of "Oscars of Animation".

This film tells the story of an Afghan girl who disguises herself as a boy to support her family and already has received an impressive number of nominations. The animated feature film is also among the films nominated at the Academy Awards whose precious statuettes will be presented on 4 March 2018 in Los Angeles.

Luxembourg audiences will have the opportunity to discover The Breadwinner on Thursday 22 February 2018 at the opening of the Luxembourg City Film Festival.

Noces directed by Stephan Streker, co-produced by Tarantula Luxembourg, has won the Magritte for best actress in a supporting role (Aurora Marion) and the Magritte for Best Costumes (made by Belgo-Luxembourger Sophie Van Den Keybus) during the 8th edition of the awards of Belgian cinema which took place on Saturday evening in Brussels.

This film competed in eight categories and he is also nominated for a César in the category "best foreign film" whose results will be known on 2 March. Noces, which addresses the painful subject of arranged marriages, already has accumulated a significant number of awards and selections / nominations at international festivals.​
