On Thursday evening, the British and Irish Film Season (BIFS) in Luxembourg moved from Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg to the Cinémathèque in Luxembourg-ville.

First off was the Film Quiz, a new item on this year's festival programme. With seven rounds of eight questions each, the topics included Animals, The Oscars, Geography & History, Music / Audio, Sport, Science and Name the Film / Visual.

Quizmaster Geoff Thompson reeled off the questions, with the participating teams conferring and submitting written answer sheets which were then marked and the winners revealed and presented with their prizes by Jean-Pierre Thilges.

The top team was When Karsten Met Andrew who won 4 Luxair return tickets to Dulin or LondonCity; We're Thinking About It came 2nd and won 4 travel bags from Orange Luxembourg; 3rd was Tequila Mockingbird (4 Villeroy & Boch mugs), and Which Film? came 4th for Cinémathèque tickets.

The screening of Writing Home followed the quiz; Festival organiser introduced Filmbase, the 3rd level institution behind the project where their students worked behind the camera with professional actors and script. The audience appreciated the light drama.
