The 10th edition of the Central and Eastern European Film Festival in Luxembourg (CinEast) will take place at various venues in Luxembourg between 5 October and 22 October this year.

The 8 films in the official competition are: 3/4 by Ilian Metev, Birds Are Singing In Kigali by Joanna Kos-Krauze & Krzysztof Krauze, Daybreak by Gentian Koçi, Directions by Stephan Komandarev, Filthy by Tereza Nvotová, Miracle by Eglė Vertelytė, November by Rainer Sarnet and Soldiers: A Story From Ferentari by Ivana Mladenović.

The International Jury, which will award the Grand Prix and the Special Jury Prize, is composed of Anne Fontaine (French film director born in Luxembourg, president of the jury), Adrian Titieni (Romanian actor), Bady Minck (Luxembourgish director and producer), Philippe Carcassone (French producer) and Oliver Baumgarten (programme director of the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival in Saarbrücken). The Press Jury, awarding the Critics’ Prize, is composed of Luxembourgish journalists Pablo Chimienti (Le Quotidien) and Valerija Berdi (Radio 100,7) and UK journalist Matthew Boas (Cineuropa).

The 10th edition of the CinEast film festival will be held in a dozen venues across Luxembourg (Cinémathèque, Neimënster, Ciné Utopia, Ancien Cinema etc.) and will present a hundred screenings of around 60 features and 40 short films from 19 EU countries, over 30 guests, 6 concerts (including a live soundtrack), 3 DJ events, a large photography exhibition (“Making A Difference”), 3 debates, screenings for children, a Focus on Estonia and more. Among the confirmed special guests attending CinEast 2017: Adrian Titieni (Romanian actor), Arkadiusz Jakubik (Polish actor), Stephan Komandarev (Bulgarian director), Boris Isaković (Serbian actor), Labine Mitevska (Macedonian actor and producer), Tereza Nvotová (Slovak director), Jowita Budnik (Polish actor), Uldis Cekulis (Latvian producer), Miha Knific (Slovenian director) and Peter Bebjak (Slovak director).
