LeasePlan, a global leader in fleet management and driver mobility, has revealed its ambitions to pursue a sustainable mobility strategy.

The strategy is already being carried out through the use of digital approaches, along with a range of products, services and partnerships to optimise customer and driver satisfaction.

The ambition pursued by LeasePlan addresses another key issue for businesses and individuals, namely reducing their CO2 emissions. The company ultimately aims to reach zero CO2 emissions by 2030 by promoting a mode of transport based on cleaner vehicles and developing offers for low-emission alternatives in this area.

Moreover, LeasePlan is currently the only automotive company to join the EV100 initiative (The Climate Group) as a founding member. The initiative prioritises the accelerated transition to electric vehicles and their infrastructure and is the first to encourage companies worldwide to engage in electric mobility, with its members willing to convert their petrol and diesel fleets into electric vehicles by 2030.

Regarding Luxembourg, the LeasePlan fleet management and mobility strategy has already been put in place. Joel Fernandes, Country Manager of LeasePlan Luxembourg, commented: "In Luxembourg, the market is particularly receptive to the issues of environmental and clean vehicles. It is also a national priority in the country, as illustrated by the creation of 800 charging stations by 2020. Our goal is to support our customers and their employees in order to accelerate their transition to electric mobility." All eligible employees of the group will use electric vehicles as early as 2021.

Whilst the market for hybrid and electric cars is still private in Luxembourg and accounted for only 2.9% of vehicle sales in 2017- according to statistics from the ADAL (Association des Distributeurs Automobiles Luxembourgeois)- sales are growing in this sector as well as that of car leasing.
