In the context of European Mobility Week, the Ville de Luxembourg (VdL) organised an awareness campaign for road safety around schools.

As part of this campaign, the VdL asked pupils in classes in the third and fourth year of local primary schools to create their own drawings on the subject of road safety and calm driving in the vicinity of schools. The aim was to raise awareness among pupils from an early age, as well as their parents and other road users, especially at the beginning of the school year.

Of the four drawings that the primary school classes of Belair, Limpertsberg and Merl submitted, the VdL chose the one that best illustrates the theme, with the first prize presented to pupils of Merl primary school on Friday 22 September 2017.

The VdL’s College of Mayors and Aldermen, represented by alderman Patrick Goldschmidt presented the first prize, namely gadgets, to the pupils of the Merl school, with the other children receiving consolation prizes.

The winning image will be used in the near future as part of awareness-raising activities around schools.
