The British Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg has announced a performance of the play “Wot? No fish!!” to be held on Friday 8 December 2017 at Mamer Kinneksbond, starting at 20:00.

The upcoming performance of the award-winning theatre production “Wot? No fish!!” will be the last of the BCC’s special events organised for their 25th anniversary year.

Winner of the “The Brian Way Award” for best new play 2013 and Lyn Gardner’s pick of the 2013 “Fringe” in The Guardian, “Wot? No Fish!!” has astounded critics and audiences alike. From 1926 to 1982, shoemaker Ab Solomons drew a picture on the back of his weekly wage packet which he gave to his wife, Celie. These images chronicle their family life in the East End of London, through ups and downs, with great wit and warmth and blistering honesty. They also give a historical account of a changing city — from the 1920s, through the Second World War, and on to the 1980s — vividly depicting shifting ambitions and attitudes.

Years later, Danny Braverman discovered the lost art of his great-uncle Ab on more than 3.000 wage packets in a shoebox — unleashing a family’s secrets and truths. Like a graphic novel brought to life, with the drawings projected on stage, Braverman shares the story with affection and humour.

The play will begin at 20:00 with aperitifs being served from 19:00. The performance will be followed by a cocktail reception to meet and greet the actors and production team.

The cost of attending this event is €15 for BCC Members and €25 for Non-Members. Registration should be made online via http://www.bcc.lu/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=168.
