The Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT Foundation) and B-Hive, the Belgium collaborative innovation Fintech platform, came together on Thursday 15 February 2018 to host at PwC Experience Center Luxembourg its first hub roadshow, the result of fruitful collaboration between the two organisations, following the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Paris Fintech Forum.

The event, supported by PwC Luxembourg, brought the two countries together, along with several Fintech companies, to discuss key topics in the financial services industry and explore potential new business opportunities in Belgium and in Luxembourg.

The culmination of the roadshow was a pitching session focused on highlighting some of the most cutting-edge scale-ups in the fields of Regtech, Robo-advisory, Fund management, Big data, AI and Blockchain. The pitching companies included: UnifiedPost, Signicat, Tetrao, Delio, Infrachain, Labage, Gambit, LuxTrust, GuardSquare, ume, RiskConcile and Signaturit.

This matchmaking event did not only give financial institutions in Luxembourg and Belgium the opportunity to discover new solutions, but it also brought together major financial services companies, VCs and governmental organisations in order to progress further the discussion.

Fabian Vandenreydt, Executive Chairman of B-Hive, said: "B-Hive believes in collaboration between hubs in Europe as way forward for financial services and fintech based on shared objectives and ways in which we can complement one another. We’re happy to see this roadshow function as a way to ‘walk the talk’ in concrete collaboration with the LHoFT."

Nasir Zubairi, CEO of the LHoFT, said: "This cooperation agreement with B-Hive and the LHoFT Foundation is the confirmation of the strong and trusted relationship between two core fintech hubs across Europe. This roadshow aims to concretely connect B-Hive’s community face-to-face with LHoFT’s community further promoting the fintech industry across Europe for the benefit of the whole industry."

Gregory Weber, director and Fintech Leader at PwC Luxembourg added: "The various initiatives the LHoFT puts in place are drivers to develop innovative user-centric financial solutions. Being part of a growing Fintech community is a tangible demonstration of our interest to bet on the Luxembourg potential to become a reference in Financial Services innovation."
