The Luxembourg creches “La colline aux enfants” have presented SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde a cheque for €834.

The La colline aux enfants creches have been supporting SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde since 2014. Up until now, they have donated a total of €1,849 to the children’s charity, a sum which has been allocated to different projects, mainly in West Africa.

This year, an amount of €834 was collected by the creches in Ettelbruck, Rollingen (Mersch), Rodange and Wiltz. The two latter creches used the St Nicholas feast as an opportunity to sell children’s creative gifts to parents, whilst those in Rollingen and Wiltz sold their creations at Christmas markets for the benefit of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.

The cheque presentation took place at the Wiltz creche, where Viviane Lima from SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde thanked the management, staff and children on behalf of the association.

The €834 will be allocated to support programmes for communities for the protection of children set up in Bamako and Socoura in Mali for more than 1,700 young people. They aim to strengthen the communities and families to provide a framework for a healthy life where every child has all they need to grow and build a future.
