Cactus has collected €9,420 for UNICEF’s “Schools for Syria” project, thanks to the sale of orange juice.

Laurent Schonckert, managing director of the Cactus group, presented the cheque for over €9,000 to Maryse Arendt, President of UNICEF-Luxembourg. The funds were collected as a result of the sale of orange juice in Cactus supermarkets and will support Unicef's "Schools for Syria" education project.

Thanks to its orange juice solidarity sale, Cactus raised €9,420 to be paid in full to UNICEF-Luxembourg. For each one-litre carton of Cactus brand orange juice sold, Cactus agreed to donate 10 cents to the charity to help allow Syrian children access to education.

Through donations, UNICEF and its partners will be able to restore damaged schools, set up classrooms, train teachers, equip children with school materials and offer remedial classes. These will ultimately allow many Syrian children, whose education was interrupted by civil war, to return to school.
