Venetian Masquerade Charity Ball 2018;

On Friday 9 March, around 70 people attended a Venetian Masquerade Charity ball held in aid for Handicap International Luxembourg at the Big Beer Co. in Clausen.
This was organised by Dutch national Mary Rose De Vries who, after nearly 20 years in Banking and Finance, started her own Events business Weorganize.lu. After several succeful events she decided to do her first big Charity event in aid of Handicap International Luxembourg.

Handicap International is an international organisation which does not depend on any government support and aims to help disabled and vulnerable people in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict and disaster. The proceeds for the evening will go towards their 'Mother and child health project to prevent disabilities and impairments in Madagascar'. Claude Briade head of Handicap International made a presentation and showed a short film on the night highlighting what the charity does.

It was a fun evening with everyone looking wonderful dressed up in their finest with their masks. For those who did not have a mask, face painters Nancy & Nikki from Partyville were available on the night to paint one on. Delicious finger food was provided by the Big Beer Co. and, after the auction and tombola, people danced away the evening to the music provided by the famous DJ Timoncello, who flew in specially for this event from Milan.

There were also two best dressed/mask prizes with Jugera Ibrihimi winning best dressed woman and one of the members of Internations winning best dressed man.

During the evening there was an auction for two 3-course lunch/dinners for 2 persons provided by the wonderful restaurants Michelin Star ‘Ma Langue Sourit’ in Moutfort and ‘Nittelerhof hotel & restaurant’ in Nittel. There was also a tombola for the many lovely gifts kindly donated.

In addition to all the sponsors, Mary Rose de Vries thanked everyone for coming to support the event, also Anastasia Mousouki, Consul of Internations Changemaker group, the BLC and AWCL ladies, to help raise such a wonderful amount for a fantastic charity; as well as those who helped her out with the organisation and on the actual night including Chessy Felix Vargas, Rosanna Doimo, Loredana Tricca, Tina Wicker and Shikha Sharma.
