Llatvian Singer Evita Zālīte;
A charity concert entitled "UNITIDED IN CHRIST" is being organised on Saturday 3 February 2018 at 15:00 at the St. Alphonse Church (Rue Beaumont, Luxembourg-ville).
The concert will feature the wonderful vocalists E. Zālīte and A. Baltmane, accompanied by guitarist I. Grunte and A. Jansons – virtuoso in the kokle (similar to the zither).
Performers:
Evita Zālīte, soloist of the Latvian National Opera, a loving foster mother to four children and a recipient of the Latvijas Lepnums award (Latvia is Proud of Them). She has inspired many through her life, achievements and artistic work.
Ilze Grunte, guitarist, whose broad repertoire extends from folk, post-folk to the classics.
Agnese Baltmane – a young, talented singer, the winner of several young vocalist competitions.
Ansis Jansons – ethnomusicologist and one of the most interesting and talented young kokle players, who actively performs at concerts and apart from kokle also plays the dūdas (similar to the bagpipe) and other instruments.
Attendance free. Donations welcome (will go toward summer camp for less well-off children from the Latvian countryside)
