LUNEX University, based in Differdange, has confirmed that it awarded biomanufacturing certificates for BioNTech in Rwanda.
BioNTech opened its first vaccine manufacturing site on the African continent in Kigali, Rwanda this week. Part of the official agenda was also the certificate ceremony with LUNEX University, which had designed and conducted special biomanufacturing training courses for BioNTech’s employees over the past months. These training courses - called BioNTech Bootcamp - prepare new employees for their role in biomanufacturing. The training courses have exclusively been designed by LUNEX University to match the needs of BioNTech and have been accredited with distinction by the international accreditation agency AQUIN in December 2023.
“We are extremely proud to be part of this important step for vaccine independence of the African continent. And we are looking forward to supporting this project with more trainings in the coming years” said Prof. Matthias Afting, Director of LUNEX University.
LUNEX University, the International University of Health, Exercise and Sport, offers training, qualifications and research opportunities in health, sport and management to around 1,000 students from more than 40 countries.
