An increasing number of users have been accessing the Luxembourg government’s Guichet.lu portal in the past years.

In 2017, more than 200,000 administrative procedures were sent electronically to the administrations via Guichet.lu- created in 2008- representing an increase of 226% from the previous year.

Since 2013, many developments have been made to improve the state's online services and the result is that 109,013 users have since created their personal area on MyGuichet.lu in the last 5 years, including 90,572 citizens and 18,441 professionals. Growth increased sharply in 2017 with 58% more registrations than in 2016.

The recent increase in the number of users is due to a number of factors, starting with the continued growth in the number of available electronic procedures. Today, 170 of them are offered to users in authenticated mode, based on a secure connection using a LuxTrust certificate. In recent months, in order to simplify certain actions, some thirty procedures are also available in unauthenticated mode, from any device, for instance the reservation of license plates for vehicles. The continuous development of new features designed to make life easier for both citizens and businesses is also contributing to the growing success of Luxembourg's online administration.

Among these features, MyGuichet.lu allows for example a user to view their marital status based on data recorded on the national register of natural persons. They can also see the list of his properties, take note of their license points and find out the date of the next technical inspection of their vehicle. More than 546,000 consultations of these data, called authentic sources, were recorded in 2017, against 118,000 a year earlier (+462%).

The introduction of online payment for electronic identity cards, passports and fines (speed cameras) was also successful with nearly 30,000 transactions recorded last year alone. In the near future, MyGuichet.lu will also allow access to its first mobile payment solution: Digicash.
