On Friday 16 February 2018, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra will celebrate her 27th birthday.

Born at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital on 16 February 1991, Princess Alexandra is the 4th child and only daughter of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

Princess Alexandra Joséphine Teresa Charlotte Marie Wilhelmine, Princess of Luxembourg, Princess of Nassau and Bourbon-Parma, to give her her full name and title, is the sister of the Hereditary Grand Duke, Prince Guillaume (born in 1981), Prince Félix (1984), Prince Louis (1986), and Prince Sébastien (1992).

In 2009, Princess Alexandra received the order of the "Lion d’Or" of the House of Nassau.

After attending primary school in Angelsberg (Luxembourg) and then the Lycée Vauban in Luxembourg, she moved abroad to further her education: after studying psychology and social sciences in the United States, the Princess continued her studies in Paris where she received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, with a specific concentration in ethics and anthropology. Princess Alexandra graduated from Trinity College in Dublin. In 2017, she was awarded a Masters in Interfaith Studies from the Irish School of Ecumenics with a specialisation in Conflict Resolution.

With an interest in politics and religious studies, the Princess gained experience in journalism during her stay in the Middle East and in international relations experience through an internship at the Security Council of the United Nations in New York during the period when Luxembourg was a non-permanent member.
