Luxembourg's weather portal, MeteoLux, has issued red and orange weather warnings for southern and northern Luxembourg respectively, in relation to high temperatures, for Saturday 18 June 2022.

The red weather warning ("extreme heat") will be in place for southern Luxembourg from 12:00 to 22:00* on Saturday. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 35 °C and 37 °C.

During this same period*, an orange weather warning ("great heat") will be in place for northern Luxembourg. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 33 °C and 35 °C.

Moreover, an orange ozone level warning will be in place nationwide on Saturday, from 12:00 to 22:00*. During these times, ozone levels in the air may exceed the European Union (EU) information threshold of 180 µg/m3.

A yellow weather warning for high temperatures remains in place nationwide on Friday 17 June 2022 until 21:00, with maximum temperatures reaching between 30 °C and 32 °C (notably in the south of the country). 

Similarly, a yellow ozone level warning is in place across Luxembourg on Friday until midnight, with ozone levels in the air possibly exceeding the pre-information threshold of 160 µg/m3.

*Update: As of Saturday 18 June 2022, MeteoLux has updated the time period during which these weather alerts will be in place: the red and orange weather warnings for southern and northern Luxembourg respectively will be in place from 12:00 to 21:00 on Saturday, whilst the orange ozone level warning will remain in place nationwide from 12:00 to midnight.
