Luxembourg Animal Rights March 2018;

On Saturday 25 August 2018, Animal Dignity Luxembourg, a platform for information and exchange around animal rights issues, organised the Luxembourg Animal Rights March; over the week-end, a total of 25 marches took place around the world with an estimated participation of 20,000 people.
Under the slogan "Animal liberation, human rights - one fight, one fight!", the participants walked across the centre of Luxembourg city. As a tribute to the millions of animals killed every day by man, flowers were deposited at places symbolising our relationship to animals, including the Fish Market and the Rue de la Boucherie.
Fabienne Origer, founder of the International Animal Rights Conference (6-9 September 2018 in Esch-sur-Alzette) and Save Animals a.s.b.l, closed the event with addressing participants on Place Guillaume II. She emphasised that veganism stems from a shared responsibility: "Eating a being with conscience and the faculty of suffering, and thus participating in its death, can not be justified by private choice. We are all responsible for the imprisonment, exploitation and killing of animals. That's why we claim, in the name of animals, not the enlargement but the abolition of cages."
The global initiative for annual animal rights walks has been in place since 2016. It aims to bring the vegan community together and draw attention to the consequences of animal exploitation.
