Late morning today, Tuesday 20 March 2018, two masked and armed men raided a specialist watch shop on Rue Philippe II in Luxembourg city centre.
The incident happened shortly before 11:30 in the city's pedestrian zone. One shot was fired, but nobody was hot; however, one staff member was stunned by a taser gun.
Both perpetrators were described as being about 1.75m - 1.80m tall and both spoke French.
The police immediately initiated a widespread search. Witnesses reported seeing three offenders fleeing in a French-registered black Renault Megane. One witness also observed the perpetrators on the Boulevard Charles Marx changing to a dark BMW 3-series estate car, the registration plate of which begins with "M".
