Polluter water in the Dudelingerbach; Credit: Grand Ducal Police

For the second time with a week, the Grand Ducal police have been alerted to polluted water in the Dudelingerbach; with the support of officials from the Water Management they again traced the source to the Scheleck industrial zone in Bettembourg.

Oil was seeping into the waterway and investigations revealed that the pollution originated from a truck parking lot adjacent to the stream. They determined that various rainwater drainage shafts from the parking lot were so polluted with waste oil that they assumed that oil changes have been made there on a regular basis and the waste oil has been disposed of recklessly into the waterway.

An investigation has been launched.
